31 January 2025. .Net 8 Script Engine Version 1.2.0
The CORE HL7 .Net 8 C# Script Engine is now available for the CORE HL7 Script Library version 1.0.1. This version is an update to coincide with the CORE HL7 TCP/IP Listener (.Net 8) version 2.1 which also incorporates the CORE HL7 Script subsystems (see Downloads).
1 January 2025. .Net 8 Script Engine Version 1.1.0
The CORE HL7 .Net 8 C# Script Engine is now available. This software is functionally equivalent to the .Net Framework version previously released, with the exception that this software was created entirely in the .Net 8 for windows environment. It does have some additional features to make things easier.
Why the 2 different versions? When we created the CORE HL7 C# Script Engine we started with our FREE CORE HL7 Viewer software which is built on the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.6.2. We knew that after creating the CORE HL7 C# Scripting sub-systems we wanted to create the Script Engine software but we did NOT know whether we could in fact port that code over to the .Net 8 platform AND maintain 100% compatibility with the .Net Framework version. So we created the current Script Engine software.
What is the future of the Script Engine? Barring something unforeseen, the future is the .Net 8 Script Engine. On initial release the .Net 8 Script Engine will, with the exception of some additional features, be functionally equivalent to the .Net Framework Script Engine.
Does this change affect the pricing? Absolutely not.
Can I run BOTH the .Net 8 Script Engine AND the .Net Framework Script Engine on the same computer? Absolutely. They are separate programs, have separate Windows services, etc. The only thing they will share (for a while) is this online help.
8 November 2024. Version 1.1.0
Following on the heels of the initial release we have released version 1.1.0. This version adds Service instances 2 and 3 as well as the ability to create Private Services. See Running Your Script Engine for more information.

Version 1.0.7 is the initial major version release.
