About Us

Solutions that just work!

Who Are We?

TransWorld Scribes Ltd is a New Zealand company established here in 2009. We offer a range of document production services from HL7 compatible transcription software and services to medical, technical, and academic documentation services.

In 2010 we hired a small Auckland company, HermeTech International, to redesign our transcription software systems to make them compatible with HL7. We were so impressed with the end result that we purchased the company outright and brought it under the TWS umbrella.

Note: As of October 2024 our transcription services contract book is at capacity. Contact support to inquire about coming aboard.

What is HermeTech?

HermeTech International has been providing a unique and innovative collection of HL7 tools, components, and application software since 2003. As a wholly owned division of TWS we are proud to offer their entire suite of HL7 solutions under our umbrella.

Since being acquired by TWS in 2010 HermeTech's role here has expanded to encompass all of IT and customer support, online accounts, and security. So if you see your account referred to as your 'HermeTech' account, that is why.

Workhorse Solutions

Working in I.T. can be difficult enough and clinical HL7 messaging interfaces can often contain a lot of moving parts that all have to work in tandem. Like old style Christmas tree lights, one bulb goes out and the entire tree goes dark.

At TWS we concentrate on producing HL7 solutions that work for you, all the time. So you can go to sleep at night with the confidence that we will still be working for you when you wake up in the morning.

Our Design Philosophy

We approach all of our HL7 software and API designs with 3 criteria which must be met:

  1. Need: It must fill a real need in the world today.
  2. Ease of Use: Software must be able to be set up and configured by a novice user. API libraries must be easily implemented and maintained.
  3. Support: We must be able to support it.

For #1, the need must be there. HL7 is already a very niche market. 99.9% of all the computers in the world DO NOT exchange HL7 messages.

For #2, while all of our clients are I.T. professionals, they are not necessarily HL7 professionals. They usually have many other things to worry about and HL7 interfaces are only a small part of their overall mission.

For #3, the most brilliant solutions in the world are worthless unless they can be supported properly. Client questions need to be able to be answered quickly and accurately. If a client loses their way we must be able to nudge them back onto the road to success. We're old fashioned about support. We prioritize human telephone contacts over email and messaging. If you call us we answer the phone. If you have a question we can answer it.
