For the CORE HL7 Microsoft SQL Server Schema Engine
•Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or later. Microsoft SQL Express works just fine for testing or development.
•Microsoft .Net 8 (sometimes called .Net Core 8) 64 bit, for the Windows Desktop. The program installer will direct you but you can also Download From Microsoft.
•Microsoft Windows 10, 11, OR Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or later.
•For the HL7 Listener the maximum single message size is 128 MB.
•Reasonable system resources. Memory 16GB minimum is recommended. Disk space based on your needs.
Upgrading from Versions Earlier than 3.0
If you are upgrading from an earlier version of the CORE HL7 MS SQL Schema Engine to version 3.0 or higher you might see a warning message when you start the program. Starting with version 3.0 we have changed the Windows Services you have available to you, adding the Private Service as well as increasing the number of Primary Services from 4 to 20. This means that IF you have any of the 4 primary services installed from a version prior to version 3.0 they must be removed from your Windows Services list.
Uninstall Legacy Services
Just click Yes here, let the software remove the old service entries and then go to the Windows Service(s) Status Tab and click the Install Services button and you are back to where you started and can immediately continue.

Important Note: IF you have to set custom properties in your Windows Services (like a custom logon, or Start Mode, Recovery, etc), remember that you will need to make those changes AGAIN every time that you Install a Windows Service.
