CORE HL7 TCP/IP Listener

Run Locally

Clicking Run - Opens up the Run Locally Window.

NOTE: You will notice that you cannot run locally if the selected profile is running in one of your Windows Services.

Running your profiles locally means to run them in a window so that you can watch them run and see real time results in the grid on the top half of the screen and the  trace window area on the bottom half. Once the Run Locally Window is loaded click Start to get things going and when you are ready click Stop to halt. Click to close the Run Locally Window and return to the Main Window.

The Run option is limited to a single profile effective with version 3.0 and higher.

Important: Running Locally should always be your first step if you suspect that something is wrong and you need to troubleshoot.

Example: I have been monitoring my system and I receive a message from my Trading Partner that they cannot connect to my HL7 Listener. All that I have to do is log in to the server, STOP the windows service running the profile for a moment (from the toolbar or right click menu in the Services Tab in the Main Window) and click Run Locally , then click Start to get things going.

Example (Continued): When you Start your Run Locally window, one of 2 things will happen:

1.Your Trading Partner will STILL NOT be able to connect and send to you. This would typically mean that there is some kind of network connection problem between their server and yours. It might be a VPN issue, or a firewall issue (either on your side or theirs), or some deeper network error.

2.Your Trading Partner WILL be able to connect and send to you. This would typically indicate that there is some problem with user rights and you need to explore WHY it works when running as YOU (IE locally) but not when running as a Windows Service (See Important Considerations below).
