Version 2.1 is an upgrade release which adds the ability to control which Text Encoding to use when receiving HL7 messages (UTF-8 or ANSI). This feature is relevant ONLY if the inbound message stream contains extended ASCII characters (like • € ƒ … † ‡ ˆ ‰ ‹ Œ ‘ ’ “ ” • – — ˜ ™ › œ Ÿ ¼ ½ ¾ © ® °).
